About the Role
- Design systems work is often treated as maintenance, but at Hostinger, it is a product in its own right.
- Hostinger is scaling fast with 4M+ clients, 150 countries, and multiple product teams shipping in parallel.
- The Design System needs to grow to be more consistent, more flexible, and more ready for AI-assisted workflows.
- This is a solo ownership role with real authority and impact, requiring the ability to operate independently, earn trust across teams, and make decisions without significant hand-holding.
What You'll Be Doing
- Lead the evolution of Hostinger’s Design System, including architecture, component library, token structure, documentation, and governance.
- Partner with every product team (Domain, WebPro, Reach, Website builder and more) to ensure the system serves real design needs.
- Define and maintain design tokens across themes, breakpoints, and platforms.
- Drive adoption across the design guild by running critiques, writing contribution guidelines, and making it easy for other designers to use the system.
- Use AI tools to accelerate system work, such as generating variants, stress-testing components, and identifying inconsistencies at scale.
- Work closely with engineers to ensure Figma components map cleanly to code, ensuring a deep understanding of handoff and technical requirements.
- Track and communicate system health, including coverage, adoption, debt, and impact.
What You'll Bring
5+ years of product design experience, with significant time spent on or leading a Design System.
Deep Figma expertise, including variables, auto-layout, component architecture, and multi-mode tokens.
Strong understanding of design tokens, including naming conventions, theming, and how tokens translate to CSS custom properties or design-to-code pipelines.
Experience working across multiple product teams and building systems that designers actually want to use.
Comfort working solo with high ownership, progressing independently while knowing when to ask for input.
Familiarity with AI tools and how they fit into a modern design workflow.
Strong communication skills to sell system decisions to PMs and explain token structures to engineers.
A portfolio with clear examples of Design System work, showing decisions, tradeoffs, and the adoption story.

- Gross salary: 4,470 – 6,500 EUR/month depending on experience.
