About the Role
- n8n's first UX Researcher, acting as a strategic partner for teams across the company.
- The main goal is to establish n8n's research function and lead strategic work, turning user understanding into a core driver of decisions across the company.
- You will build scalable recruitment systems, conduct high-impact research, spread research insights across the organization, and help teams do better research through education and hands-on support.
- You'll balance thoroughness with speed, applying pragmatic, phased approaches.
- You’ll lead high-impact design across core product surfaces (shaping AI-powered workflows, enterprise features, growth journeys, or a new marketplace) from discovery to delivery.
- You’ll join a fast-growing, remote-first company where autonomy, experimentation, and craft matter, partnering closely with PMs and engineers to ship real outcomes to a passionate global community.
- Visa sponsorship is available for Germany; for any other country, you must have an existing right to work.
- The company language is English.
What You'll Be Doing
- Build the research infrastructure: automated recruitment systems, a unified participant pool, and a searchable & actionable insights repository.
- Consolidate fragmented user data into a single source of truth to enable targeted recruitment across segments and track participation history.
- Implement GDPR-compliant processes for consent, privacy, and data deletion.
- Define and own the research roadmap in collaboration with product and design leads, from foundational work (personas, JTBD, mindset models) to generative discovery and validation studies.
- Triangulate insights from user research, product analytics, market signals, and support to surface patterns and prioritize actionable recommendations that guide product direction.
- Shape how n8n does research by building templates, playbooks, and methodologies.
- Mentor cross-functional teams to run their own studies, evangelize research across the company, and champion the voice of the user.
- Use AI and n8n as tools to amplify research impact while keeping human understanding and ethical practices at the core.
- Develop product proficiency in workflow automation to deeply understand technical users.
