About the Role
- Tackle challenging design problems and help others improve their designs by expanding and enhancing the in-house design system and consulting on bespoke work.
- Ideas may start in Figma and be grounded in code.
- Engineers run their own projects: researching the problem, writing product specs, building wireframes, and implementing solutions end-to-end.
- The engineering culture is built on minimal process, ownership over decisions, natural collaboration, and deliberate communication.
- Focus time is prioritized, with engineers in <2h meetings per week.
- The team meets in person at least twice a year, once as a department and once as a company, and provides a budget for local meetups.
- Onboarding includes a single-script dev environment setup, pushing a first product change on day one, and 30, 60, and 90-day reviews.
- The technology stack includes TypeScript (frontend & backend), React, GraphQL API, Node.js, Postgres, and Redis.
What You'll Be Doing
- Redesigning the mobile web app by talking with customers, wireframing new flows, and implementing the design system to make wireframes a reality.
- Building flexible, composable components in the design system to allow engineers to build custom autocompletes containing filters, options to create new records, etc.
- Improving design information hierarchy and scannability for viewing candidate assessments.
- Using research, prototyping, and written proposals to collaborate across time zones.
What You'll Bring
Ability to design and build software.
Proficiency in fundamentals such as debugging and abstractions.
Ability to learn quickly.
Nice to Have
A love of typed languages.
