About the Role
- Cello is looking for a Senior Product Designer to help define the next generation of its product as the company moves toward a more self-serve, product-led future.
- You'll work closely with our founding designer, product and engineering teams on the core Cello experience, taking ownership of the work end-to-end.
- Remote-first, Europe-based (must be within CET +/-3 hours).
- Small team, so you'll genuinely shape our Design Systems, not just execute someone else's playbook.
- You'll touch everything from core product flows to marketing and brand surfaces to embedded widgets, so the work doesn't get repetitive.
- We actively learn about and adopt new tech and AI tools.
- We have an async work culture.
- Remote-first, but we get together regularly as a team and company-wide.
What You'll Be Doing
- Partner directly with our founding designer, product and engineering teams to take projects on our roadmap from rough problem to shipped solution.
- Look for opportunities to improve our existing product areas, ranging from full rethinks of how something works to fixing smaller quality issues.
- Use and improve our evolving Design Systems (product design, marketing and brand design).
- Design mockups and prototypes in low- and high-fidelity to communicate ideas and show how things might work.
- Contribute to a growing design culture that's still taking shape.
- Focus on the details that make embedded UI feel trustworthy.
What You'll Bring
5+ years of software design experience.
Experience designing software for SaaS businesses, though a range of product types is also welcomed.
Breadth of craft across visual design, product thinking, brand, and interaction design.
Systems thinking to design components and patterns while considering how they fit into the broader system, with the ability to push past convention and innovate.
Courage to challenge ideas, try new things and push a product direction forward.
Fluency in designing Figma and other prototyping tools, including regular experimentation with new tooling.
Strong collaboration and communication skills for an async work culture.
Comfort working in a fast-paced startup environment where stakes are high and priorities can shift quickly.
A curious, hands-on approach, motivated by shaping meaningful products and comfortable operating with ownership, ambiguity, and scale.
Nice to Have
Both in-house (especially at a startup) and agency experience.
Experience with embedded products, platforms, or developer-facing tools.
Exposure to data-heavy or AI-assisted product experiences.
