About the Role
- Building an app designed for golfers to use on the course, mid-round, in direct sunlight, with one hand on the club.
- Working with three subscription tiers, onboarding flows, and retention loops.
- Joining a small, direct product team where designers own real work, give honest feedback, and ship products.
- Working closely with Product and Engineering to challenge assumptions and see decisions in production.
What You'll Be Doing
- Design product features end-to-end: discovery, flows, wireframes, high-fidelity UI, prototypes, and handoff.
- Own research and discovery on defined problems: write the brief, choose the methodology, synthesise findings, and turn them into decisions that influence the roadmap.
- Contribute to and evolve Design Systems: components, patterns, tokens, and documentation.
- Partner closely with iOS, Android, Web and Backend engineers: clear handoff, design QA, and fast iteration.
What You'll Bring
Critical thinking: working autonomously on defined problems, connecting decisions to outcomes, and framing problems with UX rigour.
UI craft: attention to typography, hierarchy, and motion with a modern, clean, and opinionated style.
Mobile-first instincts: understanding touch, one-handed use, performance constraints, and how mobile context (outdoors, mid-task, on the move) affects design.
AI fluency: using AI deliberately with a clear point of view on where it helps and where it doesn't.
Shipping products, connecting work to outcomes, taking feedback directly, and curiosity about the product and golf.
2 to 4 years designing digital consumer products (B2C), with shipped mobile features in portfolio.
Solid UX foundations: flows, IA, interaction patterns, and usability.
Proficiency in Figma and working knowledge of Design Systems.
Comfort presenting design rationale tied to outcomes, not just aesthetics.
Fluent in English.
Experience designing subscription or freemium flows (paywalls, upgrade, retention).
Previous work on consumer apps with a strong community or engagement component.
No requirement to play golf or know what golf is about, but a need to care about the product.
Nice to Have
Experience designing for Wearables (Apple Watch, Wear OS).
Frontend execution (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) useful for prototypes and Design Systems contributions.
