About the Role
- This role has an explicit mandate to move QIMA's client digital experience past static mock-ups and into working, clickable, and where useful code-backed prototypes that engineering can build from directly.
- It requires rigorous discovery and research practice at QIMA's scale, deep fluency in each division's business context, and the ability to build the alignment and business cases needed to make the client experience a compounding enabler of growth rather than a fragmented, service-by-service afterthought.
What You'll Be Doing
- Know Your Clients: Build deep expertise on the specificities and commonalities in the needs and pain points of a diverse client base ranging from global multi-national brands to individual entrepreneurs and farmers; design and lead rigorous discovery and user research practices.
- Prototype, Do Not Just Mock Up: Move past Figma screens and into functional, clickable, and where useful, code-backed prototypes that the engineering team can build from to resolve ambiguity.
- Set the Bar for Craft: Maintain obsessive attention to detail, ruthless removal of friction, and a willingness to prototype and discard dozens of directions before committing to one.
- Build Internal Partnerships: Build deep fluency in QIMA's business context and work hand in hand with partners in sales, marketing, operations, and finance to ground design decisions in business outcomes.
- Make it Simple: Design experiences that fit how users actually work, accounting for fragmented days and shifting priorities; design for both occasional users and power users (such as inspectors) by balancing simplicity with density, speed, and keyboard shortcuts.
- Build for Scale: Design the client digital experience with modularity in mind to build a platform that scales across divisions and an expanding portfolio of services.
- Deliver at Pace, Sustainably: Champion an Agile approach by breaking down complex problems into actionable, iterative roadmap increments and clearing blockers for teams.
- Measure Impact: Define and track metrics including portal adoption, task completion rates, time-to-insight, and client retention signals to connect design decisions to business outcomes.
- AI-Augmented: Embed AI in ways of working to accelerate impact, rethink solutions for customers in the age of widespread AI, and use AI tools to build prototypes faster.
What You'll Bring
Significant experience in UX research, product design, or a role with directly transferable skills, typically around 7 years, with demonstrated ownership of complex, multi-stakeholder design problems from discovery through to a working prototype.
A portfolio that shows working prototypes, not only polished mockups, including instances where a prototype directly shaped an engineering decision or unblocked a build.
A demonstrated commitment to UX craft comparable to the best products in the market.
High-growth or scale-up experience in environments that demand startup scrappiness and speed while designing for scale.
High agency and ownership to define, unblock, and escalate decisions.
A bias for action and an iterative mindset to prototype, test, learn, and adjust.
Comfort with prototyping tools that go beyond static design software, such as Figma's interactive features, no-code or low-code prototyping tools, or basic front-end code.
Analytical sharpness and the ability to use data to make the case.
A hands-on approach across the full workflow, from client interviews to data analysis.
Demonstrably ahead of the curve on AI-augmented design practices.
Full professional proficiency in English with clear written and verbal communication.
Ability to work from anywhere in Europe (Paris or London preferred).
